Miracle of Life

My best friend of about 10 years had her first baby yesterday and I got to witness the whole thing!  I got the call about 2:30am that she was on her way to the hospital. She had already told me she wanted me in the room during the delivery so I couldn't go back to sleep. I was waiting for the call to head over to the hospital.

About 4:30am her hubby called me to say the doctor couldn't believe how fast she was dialating and to get there quickly. I arrived there about 5:00 and this baby made her debut at 8:27.

It was the most amaxing thing I've ever witnessed! I had two C-sections so I didn't see a thing that was going on with me but this was really something. She was 11 days past her due date so everyone joked that this kid would walk out and have a full set of teeth. Of course, her mother has NEVER been on time for anything so I guess we know who she takes after.

Anyway, I'm still amazed at how good she did and how beautiful this little girl is. Everyone started crying in the room. We even got the doctor crying. She named the baby Ricki Marie. Ricki came from her hubby's brother Richard that past away a few years ago.
